john staub awards

Launched in 2011 by the Texas Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, the John Staub Awards honor excellence in architecture and design rooted in classical and vernacular traditions. Named for John F. Staub, the prolific residential architect whose work shaped Texas architecture from the 1920s through the 1960s, the awards recognize projects and practitioners who demonstrate a deep respect for proportion, craftsmanship, and regional context.

Each biennial cycle celebrates architects, designers, and artisans whose work contributes meaningfully to the built environment of Texas, advancing the enduring principles that defined Staub’s legacy while responding thoughtfully to contemporary life. The awards culminate in a two-day statewide gathering each fall, bringing together ICAA Texas members, award recipients, and leaders in architecture, design, and the allied arts for lectures, site visits, and formal recognition.
